Significant damage can occur when populations are high. This will be evident by dead and dry patches seen across the turf surface.

Mole crickets damage turf by feeding on the plant roots, stems and leaves and by tunnelling through the soil. There are 3 stages to the lifecycle of a mole cricket, including eggs, nymph, then adult.
